Richard Neff


An active chamber musician.

Originally from Georgia, violist Richard Neff earned his Bachelor of Music from Georgia State University, where he studied with Tania Maxwell Clements. He went on to receive his Master’s from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, studying with Roland Vamos.

An active chamber musician, Rick’s main teachers include Brandt Fredriksen, Martha Gerschefski, Michael Palmer, Paula Peace, Mathias Tacke, and Elizabeth Cifani. Since 2009 he has been a member of the viola section at the Bellingham Festival of Music in Bellingham, Washington. Rick plays on a Douglas Cox viola, graciously on loan from the Virtu Foundation
